Is this how you practice guitar?

Getting better at turning pages than at playing?

  • Playing the same songs and riffs over and over again.
  • Moving from song to song without finishing anything.
  • Watching dozens of tutorials but never applying what you learn.
  • Wanting to play but not doing it because it feels like work.

There’s never been a better time for access to learning content, but then what?

Learning isn’t the problem. These days there are thousands of options for top quality guitar lessons. But whether you have the best teacher, online course, or have watched all the tutorials out there, they can teach you, but they can’t practice for you.

What People Have to Say

  • “It takes all the little tricks and practice strategies that we as musicians learn throughout our lifetime, and presents them in a beautifully designed set of cards.”

    Dr. Isaac Friedhoff
    Concert Musician and Professor

  • “With a full schedule, it’s hard to find time to practice. Practice Pilot helps me get more out of the little time I do have — I either follow cards I had planned or just pick one at random, and I’m ready to go.”

    Lorraine Robinson
    Guitar Student

  • "As an experienced musician, I already know what I’m supposed to do, but it’s great to have a tool to make it easier to do it well!"

    Dayle V. - New York

  • “I’ve always had a tendency to play parts of songs that felt easier or more comfortable, but in doing so I never truly mastered any one song. I just repeated what felt good and excluded the challenging parts. The Practice Pilot exercises make it easy to organize a strategy for mastering music that once felt out of my league.”

    Tom W.
    Self-taught Guitarist

  • “These cards are great for teaching students good practice habits in a fun way. Not only that, but they remind me to practice in the ways I know I should.”

    Ian Marquez
    Classical Guitarist and Teacher

  • “This is a brilliant approach to practicing. It’s bite-sized and fun but also founded on solid teaching principles”

    Johnny Harris
    Journalist and Self-taught Musician

Our Story

It started, like many good ideas do, at the end of a long day.

Jaxon, a concert guitarist and music professor with a Doctorate in Music, had just wrapped up a full day of lessons. He was venting, again, about the same frustration: "My students know what to play, but they don’t know how to practice. Most of them waste time or burn out because they’ve never been taught how to actually get better."

Dalia, a graphic and product designer, nodded. She’d been feeling the itch to create something meaningful; something fun, useful, and beautifully designed.
That night, something clicked. What if practice could be the fun part? What if musicians (especially the self-taught ones) had a tool that made practice feel like a game, while secretly teaching them how to improve faster?

They began sketching ideas. Jaxon mapped out the core of the game using the same proven practice methods he’d used to help hundreds of students reach their goals. Dalia transformed his messy outlines into something playful, intuitive, and inspiring. They tested it with musicians of all levels, from casual hobbyists to seasoned teachers - and the feedback was electric:

"This is the next best thing to having a private teacher."
"It’s like my personal trainer for guitar."
"I finally want to practice every day."

To take it to the next level, they brought in professional game designers and educators to help refine the system. The result? A beautifully designed deck that removes the guesswork, brings joy to your practice time, and actually helps you improve... fast.

That’s how Practice Pilot was born. Born from one real conversation. Dedicated to every guitarist who’s ready to stop practicing in circles and start moving forward.
